Police on Thursday arrested a 22-year-old Bridgeport man by warrant and charged him with second-degree breach of peace.

It stemmed from an incident on Ponus Ridge on Sunday, Oct. 30, following a victim’s report of a man seen masturbating, police said.

Following an investigation, police obtained a warrant on the misdemeanor charge. Under state law, a person is guilty of second-degree breach of peace if he or she “publicly exhibits, distributes, posts up or advertises any offensive, indecent or abusive matter concerning any person” or “in a public place, uses abusive or obscene language or makes an obscene gesture,” among other reasons.

The man was taken into custody and processed at about 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 15, the report said. He was held on $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 29 in state Superior Court.
