Police on Friday night arrested a 44-year-old New Canaan woman after finding her to have been driving drunk with her minor child in the vehicle.
At about 7:37 p.m. on Sept. 29, officers were dispatched to Pine and Grove Streets on a report of a car crash, police said.
There, they found that the woman, who had turned right onto Grove Street from Pine, had struck a vehicle, according to a police report.
Speaking to her, police noticed that she showed signs of intoxication, the report said.
Her child, who is younger than 16, was in the vehicle at the time of the collision, it said. Police withheld the age and gender of the child.
The motorist failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence as well as risk of injury to a child, a felony offense.
She was released on $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 13 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
