At about 6:45 a.m. on July 11, officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious box on a landing dock there, according to a police report.

Police soon found three newborn kittens left in a Calvin Klein shoebox, the report said.

“Due to the intense care newborn kittens require they were transferred to skilled hands at PAWS in Norwalk,” police said in a press release.

“Abandoning any animal is a crime and this is an ongoing investigation,” it said.
