‘We Were Able To Sleep a Lot Better’: Letters of Appreciation for NCPD

Police Chief Leon Krolikowski submitted the following letters of appreciation for New Canaan Police at the Dec. 19 Police Commission meeting. ***

Officer Jeff Deak

“Hey Jeff, Just wanted to formally thank you for your support this season at the NCHS Football games. We are fortunate to have a great deal of community interest in our football team and with that interest comes a thousand fans and 400-500 students for each game. Your leadership of the officers covering our games helped create a much safer and more orderly environment than we have had in past years.

NCPD Hires New Officer

The New Canaan Police Department has hired a 23-year-old Trumbull native as is newest officer. Nicholas Falbo is to be sworn in Jan. 7 at Town Hall and will start recruit training later this week, according to a press release from Lt. Jason Ferraro, NCPD’s public information officer.

A recent Trumbull High School graduate, Falbo earned an associates degree in criminal justice from Housatonic Community College and worked most recently as an asset prevention detective for Macy’s in Milford, the press release said. He was one of more than 50 candidates who applied for an entry-level police officer position last fall and “successfully endured an intensive testing and selection process including a written examination, physical agility testing, interview panel, polygraph, psychological evaluation, background investigation, medical testing, and Police Commission interview,” Ferraro said. Police said recently that the department has been down five officers.
