“Hello, I was stopped outside of Greenology in New Canaan while my partner ran in to grab an Uber order. I was there for less than 2 minutes before I was approached by an extremely rude woman with a horrible attitude pointing her phone camera at me. I rolled down my window and told her I was only stopped here for a minute, we had an order already called in that we were just picking up. She told me that I needed to move my car so I told her I would, at the same time my partner came out and got in the car.

‘This Was Truly an Accident’: Parking Ticket Appeals

“I was simply making a quick delivery to my client, DB fine wines, and had a heavy load. I stayed no more than five minutes, the time to unload, but it was quite heavy and I did not want to break my back.”

“I received a parking ticket for a commercial vehicle, while I was staying with my hazard lights ON and I was not even at the place for more than 1 minute, while I was checking to see if the place was open to make a delivery.”

—$150 for handicapped zone on Elm Street, at 11:12 a.m. on Jan. 21 (Norwalk resident)

Parking enforcement officer’s note: “This individual was asked not to park in the handicap space and to double park the previous day when making a delivery.”

“I have been lived in town of New Canaan past 5 years n I have never parked my hybrid electric car in the town parking lot. What happened was I need to charge my hybrid electric car n I tried the first time in town parking lot. I always charge in Darien where I work. Due to holiday I am home n I parked to charge 40 mins while I walked n paid town hall my tax bills.

The New Canaan Parking Commission recently received the following written appeals from ticketed motorists. Where provided, we have included some specifics regarding the violations cited. ***

“I had to park in a handicap spot because I get bad gout to the point I can barely walk. there were not close spots other than the handicap spot, otherwise I would have been walking so gar and that the pain would have been unbearable. It says on the ticket that ‘Citation may be appealed before the parking Commission by giving written notice of intent to the Parking Bureau within 10 days.’ This is my notification so that I can appeal the ticket.
