Police cited two 18-year-old New Canaan boys on a minor pot charge late Sunday after approaching the parked car in which they were passengers at Morse Court.
At about 8:22 p.m., an officer on patrol noticed three teens in a car parked by the brick wall that abuts the gas station watching him intently as he drove passed, according to a police report.
The officer, a man, pulled up behind them and, as he approached, detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the car, the report said.
He instructed the operator to exit the car and told him that he would search the vehicle and if he had any pot, to hand it over now, the report said. Then, the passenger in the back seat handed over a bag of marijuana as well as a vanilla cookie laced with pot, the report said. The front-seat passenger passed over a joint that had been stuffed into his boot as well as rolling papers and three cigarillos, the report said.
The driver had nothing on him. The others—both 18, one a Marvin Ridge Road resident and the other a Weed Street resident—were issued citations for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
