Police are investigating a report of a stolen wallet from the center console of a car while parked in the employee lot of the Country Club of New Canaan.
The owner of the vehicle, a 31-year-old Stamford man, came to New Canaan Police Headquarters at 8 a.m. June 26 saying his wallet went missing after parking in the club’s employee lot.
According to a police report, the man left to get his haircut during the day in Stamford, however he remembered locking his car. At around 4 p.m. the same day, the man recalled returning to his car in the employee lot to find his wallet missing from the center console.
That same night the man received a call from his mother, the owner of the credit cards in his wallet, saying that there were fraudulent charges on her credit cards, according to Sgt. Peter Condos. He reported it the next day.

A 57 year-old contractor from Fairfield reported a number of stolen materials from his construction site on Colonial Court at 11 a.m. on June 25.
Among the materials stolen included 15 3 x 5 “wonder boards” valued at $150 total and eight 40-pound bags of Thin Set mortar valued at $216.
The man noticed that the materials were missing at 4 p.m. the day before reporting it, according to Condos.

Police are also looking into a report of two modern-style, iron lounge chairs (valued at $150 each) being stolen from outside of the building owned by Caroline Realty, near CVS Pharmacy and Bob’s Sports.
According to an employee of Caroline Realty, the chairs were located near that dumpster by the alley which runs up behind the Elm Street shops. The employee told police that he believes whoever took the chairs may have thought they were being thrown out.
Authorities are currently investigating the report that came in on June 23 at 2:30 p.m.
