The Building Department on Friday issued a building permit for the new, 4,500-square-foot home going in at 386 South Ave. (near the blinking light).
To be built for an estimated $925,000 by Lee Schettino Construction LLC, original site plans had drawn objections from some neighbors, concerned mainly about drainage and runoff.
Specs for the planned new home at 386 South Ave. are from New Canaan-based Schettino Architects.
The new home will include five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half-bath, a finished basement, unfinished attic, open and covered patios and 2-bay garage, the building permit said.

The town on Tuesday issued a demolition permit for 33 Field Crest Road. (The house was already down on Friday when NewCanaanite.com went to take a look at the site.) A 1957 split-level with 1,848 square feet of living space had stood on the .36-acre property, according to the assessor’s card.
