NewCanaanite.com this week passed the 1 million-pageview mark for 2019, two months ahead of last year’s pace.

The local news website closed Monday with 1,002,486 pageviews, according to Google Analytics—up 32.6% from the same period the prior year (756,111 views).

The most-read articles so far this week include statements from police and relatives of missing New Canaan mom Jennifer Dulos, as well as guidance from the Board of Education on school start times, a popular weekly news summary and recent property transfers.

Here’s a snapshot of monthly traffic since the site launched in January 2014:

Focused on quality-of-life issues for New Canaanites, such as land use, parks, traffic, public safety, pets, parking, the downtown and local history, the site hit the five-year mark in January. The New Canaanite has more than 2,000 subscribers to its daily newsletter and recently launched a weekly podcast, “0684-Radi0.”

Owner and editor Michael Dinan hosts a monthly coffee at New Canaan Library, presented in partnership with the library and Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee.

But I’m unclear on why some articles do not allow comments? Get it on the missing mom, but landscaping on Park St, really??
