Police: New Canaan Woman, 54, Charged After Incident at South School

Police on Monday morning arrested a 54-year-old Richmond Hill Road woman by warrant and charged her with second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

At about 1:40 p.m. on Oct. 7 (a Friday), officers were dispatched to South School on a report of a vehicle driving on the sidewalk there, police said.

Through an investigation, authorities established that the woman had been driving on the sidewalk in an attempt to catch a roaming dog in her care, according to a police report.

She turned herself in on the misdemeanor charges at about 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 5, the report said.

Police released the woman on $25,000 bond and scheduled her to appear Dec. 16 in state Superior Court.
