Letter: Endorsing John Amarilios for Democratic Registrar of Voters

I am pleased to endorse John A. Amarilios for the office of New Canaan Democratic Registrar of Voters. An Attorney, John was raised in New Canaan, has long been active in the political life of New Canaan and for the past two years, has served as a petitioning third Registrar, due to a quirk in Connecticut law. No other person could be as well prepared for the office as John. The office of Registrar now requires completion of a two year certification program. During those two years, John has availed himself of every training opportunity, completing the required two year certification program and will soon be fully certified by the Secretary of The State.

The Registrars of Voters encourage all current and potential voters to review their status as to current address and other related voter information. Anyone wishing to register or update their address or other information may do so by mail or in person with either the Registrars of Voters or with the Town Clerk, both located in Town Hall. Anyone wishing to register, or to check their current information on-line, may do so at www.voterregistration.ct.gov , or by calling the Registrars at 203-594-3060. It is important that residents correct their voting status in advance of the November 7, 2017 election.

Letter: Register To Vote in New Canaan

To The Editor:

Tuesday, Sept. 27 National Voter Registration Day. Online Voter Registration, along with the new voter registration program at the Department of Motor Vehicles has had a major impact on both the state and upon New Canaan. I would ask all potential voters to take this time to verify that everyone in their families have registered for the November 8 Presidential election, that their voting address matches their current addresses, and that those who anticipate that they will be out of town on election day are aware of the availability of absentee ballots through the Office of the Town Clerk. The State Voter Registration website is available to check if you are registered or your address of record.
