Priscilla M. Potenza, 65

Priscilla M. Potenza, 65, of New Canaan, CT passed away on May 23, 2022 at Memorial Sloane-Kettering Hospital with her loving family by her side. Priscilla was born on September 23, 1956 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Ellen Watson Gordon. 

Priscilla grew up in Middletown, New Jersey with her mother and father, Ellen and Joe Gordon and her brother Joe Jr. Alongside the 59th Street Bridge; she began the rest of her life with her adoring husband, Paul. She studied at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and graduated in 1988 alongside him with a Bachelor’s of Science and Interior Design. Throughout her life, she managed the family business, designed spaces, and worked in real estate. With her family and pets always at her side, she enjoyed going to the beach, being fully present in all of what life has to offer, and spending time with her loved ones. 

She is survived by her husband, Paul, her two daughters, Alexandrea and Siena, as well as her older brother Joseph. 

A gathering to celebrate the life of Priscilla will be announced at a later date.

Stephanie Margaret Antoszewski, 73

Stephanie Margaret Antoszewski died peacefully on May 13, 2022, aged 73, at her home in New Canaan, Connecticut after a short battle with cancer, and a longer struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by her family. 

Stephanie, the only child of Harold and Joan Fossett, was born on July 20, 1948, in the small village of South Mimms on the outskirts of London, England. She grew up at the bottom of a country lane, opposite a farm, and here was formed her lifelong love of animals and long walks. On April 4, 1970, she married Jurek Antoszewski in London, and they relocated to the United States in 1975 where they raised their children, Claire and James. Stephanie lived enthusiastically and generously.

Lloyd C. ‘Cookie’ Cook Jr., 94

On Wednesday April 27, 2022, Lloyd C. Cook Jr. “Cookie” 94 years old of Bridgewater Corners, Vermont passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after a brief illness. Lloyd (Cookie) was born on November 29, 1927 to Lloyd C. Cook and Hazel (Harlow) Cook of Wareham, Mass. After graduating High School in Apponaug, RI, he left home and enlisted in the Military. He served in the Merchant Marines, the U.S. Army, and the Army National Guard from 1943 to 1956. He left the service with an honorable discharge as a SFC E-6 having served in World War II and the Korean War.

Philip Harold Martyr, 82

Philip Harold Martyr (82) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 22, 2022, after a long, brave and determined battle with frontotemporal dementia. Phil was born on New Year’s Day in 1940 to Thelma Holmlund Martyr and Harold Arthur Martyr in Buffalo, New York. He grew up in Buffalo and East Aurora, New York, and in Delray Beach, Florida. Phil attended the Nichols School in Buffalo, where his lifelong love of hockey began, and Ridley College in Saint Catherines, Ontario, Canada for his high school years. Following in his father’s footsteps, Phil graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he also played hockey and was a member of Saint Anthony’s Hall fraternity.
