Gregory J. Karl, 58

Gregory J. Karl, age 58, of Canal Winchester, Ohio died peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. 

Born June 18, 1960 to the late Henry E. & Marion T. (Kennedy) Karl and raised in New Canaan, he was a 1978 graduate of New Canaan High School and also a graduate of Springfield College. He was employed by Thirty-One Gifts. Greg enjoyed photography and was an Eagle Scout.

James S. Cole, 81

James S. Cole passed away on Feb. 5, 2019 in Gainesville, Fla. after a brief illness, with family by his side. 

He was 81 years old. He was the beloved husband of Nancy Upton for 23 years. They resided in New Canaan until 2017, when they relocated to Fairfield. 

Jim was born in Baltimore on Feb.

Margaret ‘Midge’ Ferrante, 81

On Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, longtime New Canaan resident Margaret ‘Midge’ Ferrante passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a sudden and brief bout with cancer at the age of 81. Midge was born Jan. 3, 1938 in Chicago to the late David and Gayle Ryan. Midge attended Catholic school in Chicago and worked as an Executive Secretary at The Katz Agency.

Eleanora Maria Crosby, 73

Eleanora Maria Crosby, a generous, warm and comforting woman whose proudest accomplishment was becoming a grandmother, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was 73. Born Feb. 24, 1945 in Staten Island, N.Y., she was daughter of Dominick and Eleanor Pizzuto. 

She is survived by her husband John Crosby of Trumbull, daughter Courtney Crosby Rafferty of Trumbull (Bob), son Chandler Crosby of New Haven, sisters Maria Roesler (Arthur) and Victoria Steinert (Walter), both of Green Pond, N.J., Patricia Geisler of Staten Island, brother Nick Pizzuto of Saint Augustine, Fla.

Stuart B. Brenner, 61

Stuart B. Brenner, 61, of Wallingford, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Beth A. (Cox) Brenner. He was born in New Haven, December 17, 1957, and was raised in Woodbridge; a son of the late Lester and Corinne (Janow) Brenner. He was the proprietor of S&B Sports in New Canaan, where he cared about all of his customers and took an incredible amount of pride in his work.
