Owned by Alicia Brandfellner and John Radzin, the spa has been named ‘Ciel Eau,’ which is French for “Sky Water,” is reflect its soothing and flowing atmosphere, Brandfellner said.

An employee in New Canaan for 28 years at other spa locations, Brandfellner said she felt that the town was in real need for a peaceful and calm spa.

“It’s like a secluded oasis in the downtown area,” Brandfellner said. “We really felt the need for the privacy factor, the exclusive factor, [and] experienced well-educated staff. The staff has extensive and thorough training.”

As of now Ciel Eau offers facials, massages, and waxings, but plans on having a grand opening in September with a full complement of treatments.

The spa also carries what Brandfellner calls an exclusive facial product. “We are going to be using a product line called ‘Cellcosmet,’ which is a Swiss brand,” Brandfellner said. “[It is a] very, very exclusive [and effective] line based on bio-integral stabilized, live cells. We’re probably going to be the only [spa] in Connecticut that will have it. We are also going to using an organic line for other facials besides the Cellcosmet facial.”

The boutique spa is a member business of the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce.

Ciel Eau has a staff of fully of licensed massage therapists, as well as dual therapists who can do both facials and massages, she said.

“We are experienced in many modalities as far as massage goes,” Brandfellner told New Canaanite. “Deep tissue, sports, reflexology, Thai massage, [pre-natal, reflexology, and Swedish].” I don’t know if you are familiar with Thai massage or not but it will really appeal to people that do yoga. It’s done on the floor, on a mat, and it’s a lot of stretching. I have a therapist that does Thai [massage], so [there are] a lot of modalities. Our facials are [also] just going to be outstanding.”

Brandfellner said she envisions Ciel Eau as soothing and peaceful spa that New Canaanites can come and enjoy. “You know people were always commenting how there’s not this sort of a spa situation here in town so we really saw a need for that here.”

Ciel Eau’s current hours are Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. To schedule an appointment the spa can be reached at 203-920-1901.
