Police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old Gerdes Road man by warrant and charged him with first-degree criminal trespass.
At about 8:49 p.m. on Sept. 18, officers were dispatched to Gelatissimo on Forest Street on a report of an individual on the property after he was warned to stay away, according to police.
Police identified the man as the Gerdes Road resident. Following an investigation, police obtained a warrant on the misdemeanor charge.
Under state law, a person is guilty of first-degree criminal trespass if he or she “enters or remains in a building or any other premises after an order to leave” while knowing they’re “not licensed or privileged to do so,” among other reasons.
Police took the man into custody at his home on Sept. 19. He was released on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 3 in state Superior Court.
