Disorderly Charge for New Canaan Woman, 25

New Canaan Police last week arrested a 25-year-old town woman and charged her with disorderly conduct.

At about 8:49 a.m. on Feb. 10 (a Tuesday), officers responded to an Elm Street apartment following a report of a dispute that led to an abandoned 9-1-1 call, police said. The dispute occurred between the local woman and a victim, according to a police report.

Through an investigation, police established probable cause for the misdemeanor charge, the report said.

The woman was released after promising to appear Feb. 11 in state Superior Court.

It isn’t clear what the woman did or whether she’s related to the victim. Police withheld details, saying it’s a domestic matter.

Under state law, people are guilty of disorderly conduct if they “with intent to cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk … [e]ngages in … threatening behavior; or … annoys or interferes with another person,” among other reasons.

According to Connecticut Judicial Branch records, the woman has not yet pleaded and is now scheduled for arraignment March 24.
