Police after midnight Sunday arrested a 32-year-old Wilton man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 12:15 a.m. on July 7, an officer stopped a vehicle he spotted speeding and swerving in the area of Old Stamford and Jelliff Mill Roads, according to a police report.
During the stop, the officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath, the report said.
The man was charged after undergoing field sobriety tests, it said.
He refused to provide a breath sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, police said.
Police additionally cited him for failure to drive right.
He was released on $300 bond and scheduled to appear July 19, 2024 in state Superior Court.
