Police last week arrested a 22-year-old Ridgefield man by warrant and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 4:38 a.m. on Aug. 20, the man was involved in a car crash on Silvermine Road, striking a tree on the straightaway between Canoe Hill and Little Brook Roads, according to police.
He was transported by the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Norwalk Hospital’s emergency room and a search warrant was obtained to determine his blood-alcohol level, the report said.
It came back with a level of .16, twice the legal limit, it said.
At about 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 2, the man turned himself in on a warrant for his arrest. He additionally was cited for failure to drive right.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear Oct. 12 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
