Police received a report of larceny at the YMCA last Thursday evening at 5:15 p.m.
The complainant told police that he went into the YMCA’s Men’s Center locker room to change before going for a run through Waveny Park. He placed his items in locker around 3:50 p.m., and then left the locker unlocked. When the complainant, a 51-year-old Crystal Street man, returned to his locker about 40 minutes later, he found that his iPhone, a set of keys, and a jacket were missing.
The investigation is ongoing and police are reviewing security cameras.
You take the risk of theft if you leave valuables (i.e., your iPhone) in an unsecured locker. Just purchase a combination lock for less than $10 or leave your phone in the glove compartment of your locked vehicle.
