Penny possesses three exemplary traits that have put her at the top of those serving on the Town Council. First, she has without exception earned the respect of her past and present Town Council colleagues, other elected/appointed members of the towns governing bodies and the town hall staff. Secondly, her highly principled decisions are based solely on what is in the best interest of New Canaan. Finally, Penny has, through her many years of service to our town, been at the forefront for the important issues that have come before the Town Council. She is uniquely positioned to rely on her valuable institutional knowledge to serve as the foundation for creative and proactive problem solving.
Having served with Penny on the TC for eight years, six of those years as the chairman, I have seen Penny utilize these traits along with an unmatched sense of purpose and energy. I depended on Penny to research issues, search out community input and to take a stand on the most difficult issues that came before the Council. Without exception, Penny did what was asked of her and more.
We are so fortunate to have so many dedicated people in our town who sacrifice their time for our New Canaan community. Penny’s distinguished service to our community puts her among the best of those who have donated their efforts to New Canaan.
