Counselor to presidents, Harvard professor, U.S. senator and leading diplomat, Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s career will be described in remarks by Dr. Mark Nunan at the New Canaan Men’s Club meeting May 19, to be held in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Moynihan, who died in 2003, had a long and distinguished career both in a variety of governmental positions and as a professor at Harvard University. Nunan’s presentation will begin around 10:40 a.m. following the club’s regular business meeting, beginning at 10 a.m.
Nunan considers Moynihan a practical theorist about the challenges of governing in the second half of the 20th century and as a practicing government professional from the mid-1950s through his four terms in the U.S. Senate.
Nunan earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University and, until his retirement in 2018, and advised corporate and government clients on business development issues both domestically and internationally as an executive with COS Inc.
