O’Dea Reports to Men’s Club on Legislative Session
Friday, September, 22, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
State Rep. Thomas O’Dea, now in his sixth term representing the 125th District, will report on the Connecticut General Assembly’s recent session at Friday’s meeting of the New Canaan Men’s Club to be held in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 22, with O’Dea’s remarks slated to begin around 10:40 a.m.
As part of his presentation, O’Dea will discuss pending issues before the state as the General Assembly prepares to meet in 2024 and answer member questions about upcoming issues.
With affordable housing an important topic in New Canaan, O’Dea was among the dignitaries marking the reopening during the summer of New Canaan Parish on Lakeview Avenue. The ceremony drew a bipartisan crowd of officials headed by Gov. Ned Lamont accompanied by numerous state and local political leaders.
He called New Canaan Parish “a positive development for the town,” adding that it highlights the issue of the state’s “diminished affordable housing stock.”
O’Dea, who formerly served on the New Canaan Town Council, is deputy Republican leader in the House. He also serves on the Environmental, Judiciary and Transportation committees. Before being elected to the General Assembly, he served on the New Canaan town Council from 2005 to 2013.
An attorney, O’Dea’s practice specializes in civil litigation. He received his law degree from Catholic University and an undergrad degree from Providence College.
The Men’s Club has openings for new members, men 55-years old and above. For information about the club, email ncmens@ncmens.info
