  1. Thank you to the New Canaan Land Trust for protecting our critical riverbank habitat and for taking the lead on petitioning this application to clear more than 400 native trees and constructing berms and walls along its bank in order to raise the height of the Grupes Reservoir dam in the Silvermine River.

Hopefully many of us will be able to virtually attend the September 29 online hearing when a link is available.

  2. As owner of a property in the “endangered”flood plain for many years and currently, I have never been made aware of any threat of flood. It is lovely green habitat surrounding the reservoir.
This proposal will ruin the enjoyment of the public Land Trust preserve as well as the settings and views of the New Canaan homes that surround the lower reservoir if this plan is approved. There are other solutions that maybe easier and less expensive. Let’s hear about the alternatives.
