Police arrested a 53-year-old New Canaan man on New Year’s Eve following a domestic incident at his home.
At about 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, officers received a complaint about a dispute between two occupants of a Danforth Drive home, according to a police report.
Following an investigation, police charged the man with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
It isn’t clear what prompted the misdemeanor charges, what the argument involved, whether or how the arrested man is related to the victim or to what extent that victim was injured or how. Police withheld further information, classifying the incident as a domestic matter.
They released the man on $5,000 bond and scheduled him to appear Jan. 3 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
