Police on Thursday arrested a 69-year-old Marshall Ridge Road man following a complaint that he had shoved another man and pulled a knife during an argument.

At about 1:20 p.m. on May 20, the two men had been working at a home on Heritage Hill Road, according to a police report. When he saw that the Marshall Ridge Road man was attempting to overcharge the homeowner for work done, the second man said he intervened, according to a police report.

That’s when the 69-year-old shoved the other into a door and pulled out a green folding-tip knife and threatened to cut him, the report said. The Marshall Ridge Road man’s son intervened and broke up the argument, calming down his father, the report said.

Police arriving on scene could not locate a knife, and the homeowner who had witnessed the scuffle said she hadn’t seen a knife, the report said.

The Marshall Ridge Road man was charged with second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct. He was released after promising to appear June 3 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
