New Canaan Police on Sunday arrested an 18-year-old Bald Hill Road man and charged him with evading responsibility, possession of alcohol by a minor and six counts of possession of a controlled substance.
At about 8:15 a.m. on March 19, officers were dispatched to North Wilton Road on a report of a vehicle that had been abandoned following a crash, police said.
Through an investigation, the local man was identified as the driver, according to a police report. Police also found contraband on the man, the report said.
He was charged with the misdemeanor offenses at about 10:30 a.m., it said. He additionally was charged with failure to driver in the proper lane.
Police released the man on $2,750 bond and scheduled him to appear March 30 in state Superior Court.
