The New Canaan Building Department on Tuesday received an application to construct a 4,110-square-foot home on a .36-acre property on Field Crest Road.

The new home at 33 Field Crest Road will cost $700,000 to build and will have nine total rooms, including five bedrooms and full bathrooms and one half-bath, the application said.
The two-story house will replace a 1957-built split-level ranch with 1,848 square feet of living space that was demolished one year ago, tax records show.
The contractor on the job is Fox Hill Builders Inc of Darien, architect is New Canaan’s own James Schettino Architects.

The town on Wednesday received a building permit application to build a new 7,500-square-foot home on a vacant 2.6-acre parcel on Weed Street.
The home at 927 Weed St. will be built for about $1,450,000 by Coastal Construction of Westport, and will include six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and one half-bath, according to a building permit application received Wednesday by the town. Specs by Coastal Construction
The lot at 927 Weed St. follows from a subdivision of 929 Weed St. that the Planning & Zoning Commission approved in December. The parcel sold in April for $1,425,000.
The Building Department on June 10 had received an application for a slightly larger, 8,000-square-foot home, for the parcel.
The home will be built for about $1,450,000 by Coastal Construction of Westport, and will include six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and one half-bath, according to the application.
