A new healthcare provider is setting up doctors’ offices in downtown New Canaan.
One Medical, partnering with Hartford HealthCare for speciality care, is on track to open at 22 Pine St. (the former Oxygen Fitness building) in July, company officials say.
Asked why New Canaan is a good fit for One Medical, company officials said in an email, “Many elements are considered when identifying potential One Medical office locations. One Medical targets real estate that is easily accessible to areas where people work, shop and live so New Canaan was a great fit for the second One Medical office in Connecticut.”
One Medical helps with “everything from common illnesses and chronic diseases to mental health concerns,” according to its website. Services include wellness and prevention, the website said, and One Medical offers same/next day appointments, on-site lab visits, 24/7 virtual care and “seamless care at offices nationwide.”
The company has offices in 19 “major U.S. markets,” according to its website, and charges a membership fee of $144 for the first year under a current promotion (regularly $199).
“One Medical is a membership-based primary care practice on a mission to make getting quality care more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable for all through a blend of human-centered design, technology, and an exceptional team,” the website said.

Yes there is a banner at the top of the company’s website saying “Amazon and One Medical have teamed up.” I hadn’t realized that until yesterday afternoon when one of my editorial advisors mentioned it to me. It wasn’t something I added to the article because I couldn’t remember a time when we included parent companies in any news story about a new business in New Canaan. We did include a link to One Medical’s website in the article, and I figure our readers are free to navigate to the About Us section of that site, where this press release appears. Thank you again.
