Police: Brooklyn Trio Arrested After Trying To Use Fake Credit Cards At Walgreens

Police arrested three Brooklyn, N.Y. men on multiple misdemeanor charges after they tried to use fake credit cards to buy gift cards at a local pharmacy late Friday.

At about 10:40 p.m. on Jan. 15, officers were dispatched to Walgreens on Pine Street after an employee there notified them of the attempt, according to a police report.

Each of the three men—two aged 22, the third 24—was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny and conspiracy to commit illegal use of a credit card. Two of the men additionally were charged with unlawful completion or reproduction of a credit card. A pair of those arrested also each were charged with conspiracy to commit illegal use of a credit card, while one of the 22-year-olds was charged with criminal attempt at illegal use of a credit card.

The 24-year-old was held on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear this week in state Superior Court in Norwalk, while the others were released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear next week.
