Police on Wednesday afternoon arrested a 50-year-old Park Street woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 23, officers were dispatched to the intersection of grove and Pine Streets on a report of a vehicle stopped with a woman sitting in the driver’s seat with her eyes closed, police said.
Arriving, officers smelled vanilla on her breath, according to a police report. Her speech was slurred and she was unable to answer basic questions, the report said. Officers found several empty bottles of vanilla extract in the vehicle, it said.
The woman failed field sobriety tests, police said. She refused to undergo a test to establish her blood-alcohol content level, according to the report.
She was held on $250 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 24 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
