Police last week arrested a 31-year-old Mount Vernon, N.Y. man who gave a false name and other information after authorities confronted him for lurking in a Lukes Wood Road driveway.
At about 7:44 p.m. on Oct. 24, officers were dispatched to Lukes Wood Road in the area of Oenoke Ridge on a report of a suspicious black male in the driveway wearing a black hoodie and gray pants. When the homeowner saw the man, he honked his horn in the driveway and the man immediately left and started waling toward Lukes Wood, according to a police report.
Police caught up with the man and he gave a false name and date of birth, and couldn’t tell them why he was in the driveway of the home, the report said. Eventually he gave a reason but it turned out not to be true, it said.
He was charged with interfering, a misdemeanor.
Police released the man after he promised to appear Oct. 31 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
