Police after midnight Sunday arrested a 45-year-old New Canaan man found trying to enter a residence on Main Street.
At about 2:31 a.m. on Sept. 15, officers were dispatched to the residence on a report of the attempt, according to a police report. The people who live there were woken up by their dogs barking and found the man, a Valley Road resident, trying to get in, the report said.
The man showed signs of intoxication and didn’t cooperate with police and investigators who tried to figure out why he was trying to get into someone else’s home, it said.
He was charged with simple trespass, interfering and disorderly conduct.
Police released the man on $500 bond and scheduled him to appear Sept. 27 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
