Police: Three-Man Scam, Attempted Burglary in New Canaan

More

Police are seeking three men who allegedly attempted to scam an elderly New Canaan resident at his home yesterday afternoon.

The three men arrived at an Old Stamford Rd. residence and offered to seal the homeowner’s driveway. The men told the homeowner the first coating was free and that the homeowner would have to pay for additional coats. The homeowner agreed and the men sealed the driveway.

When the homeowner walked outside to pay the men only one of the individuals was standing in the driveway. This male engaged the homeowner in conversation. The homeowner then walked back into his house and saw the other two men standing in his living room. The homeowner called 911 and the two men ran from the residence to their vehicle and left.

The suspects are described as black males approximately 5’8 to 5’10” tall. The vehicle was said to be a black pickup truck with a black cab over the bed, and white lettering reading “A&B” on the driver’s side door.

Anyone with information can contact the police department at 203-594-3500.
