Police on Sunday arrested a 53-year-old New Canaan man and charged him with risk of injury to a child, third-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct.

At about 4:11 p.m. on Feb. 20, officers were distanced to a Millport Avenue home regarding a dispute between the man and another person at the residence, according to a police report.

Following an investigation, police charged the man with the felony offense (risk of injury) and two misdemeanor offenses.

A juvenile at the home also was charged with second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct, police said.

Police declined to provide details, saying it’s a domestic matter.

The man was held on $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court.
