Greenwich Pharmacy To Open Monday on Main Street [PHOTOS]

More than six months after announcing that he would take over the former Silk Purse space on Main Street, the owner of Greenwich Pharmacy said he’s ready to open on Monday. Standing on the new mahogany floors he’s had laid in the 4,000-square-foot space and matching, roomy shelving housing a largely imported product line, Dmitri Daniarov told NewCanaanite.com that he’s “very excited” to launch Greenwich Pharmacy at 112 Main St. “I’m feeling great,” Daniarov said. “The people of New Canaan are great people. We have, in Greenwich, a big base of people from New Canaan.

‘It Is Absurd’: Planning Officials Call For Re-Worked Sign Proposal on Main Street

Saying a proposed sign for a pharmacy moving into a vacant Main Street space is too big and loud, planning officials on Tuesday called for a new design. A rendering of the proposal for the front of the Greenwich Pharmacy at 118 Main St. showed a plain red-lettered sign that would “read as a huge billboard,” Planning & Zoning Commission member Kent Turner said at the group’s regular meeting, held in the Town Meeting Room. “This sign really goes from one side of the building to another,” Turner said of the proposal. “This sign is 38 feet long.

Greenwich Pharmacy (and Spa) To Open in Former Silk Purse Space on Main Street

An independently owned pharmacy based in Greenwich will open up a second location on Main Street in New Canaan. Following an extensive interior renovation, Greenwich Pharmacy will open in two to three months at 112 Main St.—formerly the longtime home of The Silk Purse consignment shop, vacant since last summer—according to owner Dmitri Daniarov. “We have a lot of patients that we service from New Canaan,” Daniarov said. “People that live in Greenwich really enjoy the service—an old ‘mom and pop’ pharmacy establishment that takes care of their needs, so we are translating that same concept in New Canaan and I’m sure that both we and the people of New Canaan will benefit.”

The property is owned by JR Silverberg Realty LLC, tax records show. The building has about 6,200 square feet on the first floor, where The Silk Purse had occupied a space wide enough for two sets of doors on Main.
