Allen Henry Rosenquest, 85

Allen Henry Rosenquest, 85, died peacefully on April 18, 2023, at Norwalk Hospital with his loving family by his side. Allen was born on October 15, 1937 in Port Chester NY. He was the son of Eugene Haskins Rosenquest and Muriel Edwards Rosenquest, and the husband of Carol Ann Rosenquest. He was a resident of New Canaan for 52 years. Allen attended Holy Cross College and graduated in 1959 with a bachelor’s degree.

Giovanni Socci, 85

Giovanni (John) Socci, born December 30, 1937, passed away peacefully at his home on April 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. John was a long time resident of New Canaan and worked for the New Canaan Board of Education as head groundsman for 44 years.  Additionally, he owned and operated a landscaping business before retiring in 2018. Born in Settefrati, Italy, John was the son of Ercoli Socci and Maria Macari Socci.  He met his wife and immigrated to the United States where they raised their two children.  John took pride in hard work, good friends and close family.  His was a life well-lived. John is survived by his wife, Loreta of 59 years, his children John (Clare), Gina Ruppert (Dirk), four grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.  He is also survived by his brothers Antonio (Emilia) and Jack Socci both from Stamford and was predeceased by his brothers Pierto (Fran), Guisseppe (Connie) and Liberato (Kathy) Socci. Visitation will be held on Monday April 24th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hoyt Funeral Home 199 Main Street in New Canaan.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 25th at 10 AM at St.

Pasquale Valente, 80

With great sorrow, the Valente, Coppola, Palladino, and Krolikowski families announce the passing on April 11, 2023, at home, surrounded by family, of our gentle and unimaginably kind father, grandfather, and friend, Pasquale “Patsy” Valente, age 80. Pasquale was born on October 7, 1942,  in Villa Latina, Italy, to the late Melchoire and Antoinetta Valente. In 1966, after serving in the Italian Army, Patsy met the love of his life, Maria, while working the fields in his hometown. This rather intense meeting led to their marriage in Italy and culminated in their journey in 1968 to America in pursuit of their American Dream. Once in America, Patsy and Maria settled in New Canaan and worked tirelessly to provide a better life for their growing family.

Fredrick Phillip Tiani Jr., 63

Fredrick Phillip Tiani Jr., born December 27th 1959, passed away peacefully on April 8th 2023 at Norwalk Hospital. Fredrick was a lifelong resident of New Canaan, CT and worked at the New Canaan Police Department as head of maintenance for over 35 Years. He was the son of Chief Fredrick P. Tiani Sr and Mary Ann (Pirone). He is survived by his beloved wife Mariene Socci – Tiani of 38 years, his two children Fredrick Phillip Tiani the third of New Canaan, CT, his daughter Ginamarie and her husband Alex Golan of Darien, CT. He is also survived by his sister, Sr. Lorraine Tiani of Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur of West Hartford, CT, as well as many nephews and cousins.

Dr. Raymond L. Kotch, 101

Dr. Raymond L. Kotch, 101, of New Canaan, CT, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home on April 8, 2023. Ray grew up in New York City, and attended Erasmus Hall, DeWitt Clinton High School, and City University of New York. He graduated from the College of Dental Medicine of Columbia University, and was an attending oral surgeon at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. In the early 1950s, Ray served as a captain in the United States Army during the Korean War.
