Police on Saturday afternoon arrested a 26-year-old Naugatuck man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 1:16 p.m. on Dec. 12, New Canaan Police were dispatched to A-1 Cellars on Elm Street on a report of a delivery driver possibly intoxicated, officials said.
There, officers found the man lethargic and unsteady on his feet, and smelled alcohol on his breath, according to a police report.
After administering fields sobriety tests, police took the man into custody on the misdemeanor offense. He provided a sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, which tested at .35, more than four times the legal limit of .08.
He was released on $300 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 22 in state Superior Court.
