Following a discussion about the likelihood of goats living on the property, the Planning & Zoning Commission voted 8-0 during its regular meeting Tuesday in favor of a farm designation for a Brookwood Lane estate where an apiary and flower and vegetable farm are planned. P&Z conditioned the approval on adequate screening between a goat paddock and Brookwood. Those voting included P&Z Chair Dan Radman, Secretary Krista Neilson and Commissioners John Kriz, Tom Benton, Dick Ward, Kent Turner, Art Casavant and Paul Knag. (Radman asked a Commission regular member, John Engel, to recuse himself after it emerged that the latter had exposed himself to communications from neighbors—Engel did participate in P&Z’s discussion up to that point. “The problem is what you just stated, that you talked to neighbors about this application,” Radman said.)
