Police last week arrested a 28-year-old Norwalk man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 9:03 p.m. on Aug. 29 (a Thursday), officers responded to a Hoyt Farm Road house on a report of someone trying to break in, according to police.
Arriving officers identified that person as the Norwalk man, according to a police report.
Speaking to him, police smelled alcohol on his breath, the report said. The man told them that he had driven to the house, it said.
After administering field sobriety tests, police brought the misdemeanor DUI charge.
At headquarters for processing, the man provided two breath samples to establish his blood-alcohol, which came back at .146 and .136, both half again as much as the legal limit.
Police withheld further information regarding the house visit, calling it a domestic matter.
The man was released on $300 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 10 in state Superior Court.
