Police arrested a 31-year-old Norwalk man after finding prescription painkillers, THC and marijuana that appeared packed to sell during a traffic stop on Route 123.
At about 6:42 p.m. on May 22, an officer spotted a vehicle traveling on New Norwalk Road with tinted windows that appeared to be in violation of state law, according to a press release issued by New Canaan Police Department Chief Leon Krolikowski.
The officer smelled marijuana in the car and the man admitted to having it, the chief said.
“A search of the vehicle found marijuana packaged for sale, Oxycodone pills, liquid tetrahydrocannabinol [commonly known as ‘THC’], a scale and other drug paraphernalia,” Krolikowski said.
No one else was in the car, the chief said.

Police charged the Norwalk man with possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch, the man also has been charged with sale of a controlled substance, a felony.
“Our department is committed to arresting those that sell drugs in our town,” Krolikowski said.
He was released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear June 8 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
