A 50-year-old Mount Vernon, NY man was arrested by warrant at 8:36 p.m. on October 23 and charged with first-degree failure to appear, a felony offense, in connection with a Hillcrest Road burglary on February 16, 2010.
Police in Westchester, who had picked up the man on a separate offense, saw that New Canaan Police had a warrant out for his arrest, so local police picked the man up and brought him here, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, public information officer with NCPD.
He originally had been charged on June 13, 2011, for third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, then later with failure to appear after he’d missed a court date on Jan. 24, 2012.
He was held on $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear Oct. 24 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

Police arrested a 47-year-old Deep Valley Road man at his home last Monday evening after he’d become involved in an argument outside a Pine Street business.
Police responded to the call at 5:57 p.m. on Oct. 20 and when they confronted the local man at his home, he admitted to having the argument. He was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released after promising to appear the next day in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

Police brought two separate charges of second-degree failure to appear against a 29-year-old East Avenue man.
The man had been arrested on May 16, 2013 by New Canaan police and charged with fourth-degree larceny and possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana. He also had been arrested Aug. 5, 2013 by Norwalk police and charged with sixth-degree larceny.
He turned himself in at about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 25.
He was released on $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 5 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
