The New Canaan Men’s Club meeting Friday will hear from premier sports talk radio star Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, known for his SiriusXM eponymous program, Mad Dog Unleashed on Mad Dog Sports Radio, the satellite service’s all-sports talk channel. He joined Sirius in 2008.
Last month, Russo signed a new deal with ESPN to continue with that network’s First Take, in addition to his weekly afternoon Sirius program. Russo also hosts the MLB Network’s baseball talk program, High Heat with Christopher Russo.
To accommodate Russo’s schedule, the club’s meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m., a half hour earlier than its usual start time, and Russo’s remarks will take place at the start of the meeting, rather than after the business portion concludes.
As an inductee in the Radio Hall of Fame, Russo has been a fan favorite for nearly 40 years, speaking candidly about the games and the players. As if he weren’t busy enough, he recently launched a podcast, Digging Up the Past.
