The New Canaan Building Department on Sept. 22 received an application for a new house in the northeastern corner of town.
The five-bedroom, 5,500-square-foot house planned for 240 Benedict Hill Road will include five full bathrooms, one half-bath, one fireplace and a five-car garage, according to the building permit application.
It will cost about $800,000 to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job is Mariusz Lukasik of Glendale, N.Y., the architect Chris Teeter of New York, N.Y., it said.
The 2.62-acre property was sold for $750,000 in April, tax records show. In July, the town issued a demolition permit for the 1957-built, ranch-style house on the parcel.
