Town officials on Thursday issued a permit to build a 4,087-square-foot home on a vacant, 1.05-acre lot on Garibaldi Lane.

This 4,087-square-foot house is planned for 90 Garibaldi Lane in New Canaan.
The five bedroom home at 90 Garibaldi Lane will include five bedrooms and full bathrooms, two half-baths, fireplaces, a finished attic and basement and two-car garage, according to a building permit issued April 21.
The property is owned by a Ridgefield man, according to records on file with the Connecticut Secretary of the State.
It will cost about $850,000 to build, the permit said. The contractor on the job is Ridgefield-based Reed Whipple of Heritage Home Construction, it said.

A variance in hand from the zoning board following initial opposition from neighbors, town officials on April 13 received an application to build a 2,890-square-foot home on an oddly shaped Jelliff Mill Road property.

A 1932-built, 1,219-square-foot home now stands on the long, narrow 1.02-acre lot at 335 Jelliff Mill Road.
A new, 2,890-square-foot home is planned, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The property is owned by a pair of New Canaan men, state records show, and they’ll serve as the job’s contractor.
It was purchased in October for $460,000, and the new home will cost $435,000 to build, according to the application.
The architect on the project is New Canaan-based James Schettino Architects.
