The New Canaan Building Department on Jan. 13 received an application to build an 11,165-square-foot house on Oenoke Ridge.
The seven-bedroom home planned for 672 Oenoke Ridge will include eight full bathrooms and two half-baths (15 rooms total), according to the building permit application.
It will have an unfinished basement and a pair of two-car garages, the application said.
The house will cost about $3 million to build, it said. The contractor on the job will be Luigi Altamura of Stamford-based Altamura Homes, the architect Louis Campana Architect PLLC of Bronxville, N.Y.
The 5.69-acre property includes a 1936-built Colonial, according to municipal tax records. A demolition permit for the house and outbuildings was issued last month, building records show. It had been purchased in April 2021 for $3,925,000, tax records show.
Tear down, & build, build, & build.
Tear down beautiful homes & replace them with money, not a home. Is that all there is?
You are so right. It’s not like there aren’t huge home for sales, this is just people flexing their wealth.
