New Canaan Police this week responded their second call in one month about juveniles riding skateboards on the roof of a well-known medical building on East Avenue, officials say.

Asked about the complaints, Police Lt. Jason Ferraro confirmed that officers responded at about 12:20 p.m Monday to a call about the activity at 173 East Ave.

A prior call had come in about the skateboarding at 7:08 p.m. on May 24, Ferraro said.

In both incidents, responding officers were unable to make contact with anyone skateboarding on the roof of the New Canaan Medical Group building, he said.

It’s unclear which part of the two-story building the skateboarders have been using. The 8,600-square-foot medical center appears to have several roof systems.

It’s owned by a limited liability partnership and has been continuously owned since 1970, tax records show.

School lets out this week.

  1. I remember when the idea of building a skate park in New Canaan was shot down. Perhaps the town should not have been so quick to dismiss the idea.
