Thieves entered vehicles parked in driveways in New Canaan before dawn Tuesday, and stole a wallet from one of them, police said.
At about 2 a.m. on June 16, thieves tried a number of vehicles on Old Stamford Road, Leslie Lane and Mortimer Street, according to Police Chief Leon Krolikowski. (See video above.)
“We urge everyone to lock and alarm their vehicles, and houses, and to secure all valuables,” the chief said in a press release.
When unable to get into a locked car, the thieves moved onto other driveways until they found one that was unlocked, he said.
A complete list of stolen items is not yet available.
The news comes one day after police received complaints about thefts from vehicles on streets including Butler Lane, Meadow Lane, Oak Street, Rocky Brook Road and Seminary Street.
