Police last week arrested a 24-year-old Bronx, N.Y. man by warrant and charged him with third-degree identity theft, a felony offense, interfering with an officer, unlawful possession of a personal identifying information access device and illegal furnishing of money, goods or services on a payment card.
The warrant stemmed from an investigation into a report of mail theft that had been launched in August 2022, according to police and Connecticut Judicial Branch records.
Court records show that Westport Police also are charging the man with third-degree identity theft, a felony offense, unlawful possession of a personal identifying information access device and illegal furnishing of money, goods or services on a payment card.
He turned himself in to New Canaan Police at about 12:45 p.m. on May 29.
Police released him into the custody of Westport Police on $100,000 bond and scheduled him to appear June 7 in state Superior Court.
