The following letters of appreciation for New Canaan Police Department officers were presented to the Police Commission at the appointed body’s two most recent meetings, Oct. 16 and Nov. 20.

Officers Clinton Jarvis and Bryan Connolly
“Chief DiFederico,
I am writing to express our deep gratitude for the professionalism and dedication shown by your officers during their recent response to our home for the birth of our son. Their swift action, calm demeanor and overall professionalism made a difficult situation much more manageable for us, and we truly appreciate the care they took in handling everything.
We would like to personally reach out to thank the officers who assisted us. It was a bit of a blur with how quickly things unfolded so we did not have time to capture their information. If possible, could you kindly provide us with the names of the officers who responded? We feel it’s important to recognize and show our appreciation for their outstanding service.
Thank you again for your leadership and for fostering such an exceptional team. Best regards,
John and Lindsay Cooper”

Officer John Barlosky
“Hi Officer Barlosky-
A big thank you for taking the time out of your day to speak candidly and of the heart to our son. We are very lucky to have a person like you working in our community. We will reach out to Maria shortly, and set up a time to apologize in person. Regards,
Dawn” (undated)

Lt. Marc DeFelice and Officer Mairee Castro
“Lt. DeFelice & Officer Castro,
Thank you both for taking such quick action on the issue I had with people who said they would fix my paint job on my car but would not actually live up to their word. In just a couple of days they called me and we agreed on an amount acceptable to me to settle the matter. It would have been justified for you to tell me it was because of my own stupidity and for you to do nothing further. Here is the money recovered from them as a donation. Thank you both for recovering these funds. I doubt if these guys will be approaching any other New Canaan resident any time soon. Your work is really appreciated. Thank you.
Ed Cantlon” (Nov. 14)
