Robert J. Cuda of New Canaan, passed away surrounded by his family on December 13th, 2019 at the age of 60.
He was born on March 16th, 1959 in Bridgeport, CT to Robert A. Cuda and RoseMarie Connolly. Robert was the husband to Kimberly A. Cuda of New Canaan. He was a beloved husband, father, son, uncle, and friend. Robert was well known in the New Canaan community. Before moving to New Canaan, he was raised in Bridgeport and then later Trumbull.
Lucas Richard McGee, 23 months, of New Canaan, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2019. Born at Stamford Hospital on December 31, 2017, he was the beloved son of Conner and Kate McGee of New Canaan. Lovingly known as “Lukey,” he was cherished by all who knew him. His smiles and hugs brightened everyone’s day and his uncontrollable belly laugh when tickled provided hours of fun for everyone around him. He had endless love of the outdoors and took pride in selecting just the right pair of shoes each morning to go outside and check out the “car cars.” With gratitude from his parents and caretakers, Lukey contributed beyond his years to the household tidiness, making sure his dishes were always in the sink and his dirty clothes in the laundry room. His Teddy, his Mimi, his friends and teachers at the New Canaan Nature Center Preschool, and bedtime readings of “Hello Doctor” were the anchors of his days. And he loved all things related to food and mealtime, always taking care to use a fork, even if endeavoring to eat Play Doh at school, as reported by a dear friend to the family the day before he passed. Lukey is survived by his big brother Jamie, and big sisters Alex and Casey; paternal grandparents, Scott and Cathy McGee of Norwich, VT; maternal grandparents Richard and Adele Mattern of Sanibel, FL; his doting uncles and aunts: Chris and Sarah Mattern of New Canaan, CT, Jon Mattern and Katie Parcels of New York, NY, Ross McGee and Alisha Keel of Hartford, VT; cousins and best friends Charlie and Max Mattern of New Canaan, CT; and his playmate and dog, Chester. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to all the first responders especially Officer Michael O’Sullivan and Lieutenant Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan Police Department and EMT Wendy Hilboldt; the entire emergency room and bereavement staff at Norwalk Hospital; and The Reverends Peter Walsh and Elizabeth Garnsey of St.
Herbert A. Granath of Darien, CT, passed away peacefully on November 26th, 2019 in Stamford, CT. He was 91 years old. Herb was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Brooklyn Tech High School. He studied physics at Fordham University while working nights as a page at NBC, and, with his interest in media thus sparked, went on to do graduate work at Fordham in communication arts. In 1993 he was elected to Fordham’s Board of Trustees, a position in which he served with great affection and pride.
Tyler Michael Reeb, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 14, 2019 at his home in Richmond, VA. Tyler grew up in New Canaan, CT and was an avid sportsman involved with baseball, wrestling, lacrosse, and football. He approached life with a contagious sense of humor that came easy to him, sincere sensitivity towards others, a strong work ethic, and a powerful will. Tyler was always fond of the outdoors, happy to play alongside his sister in the woods and pastures of the family farm in Vermont and enjoy winter sports. He earned a BS in Psychology from Widener University in PA and worked with underprivileged youth in that area during college and after graduation. Tyler had been drawn to the military at a young age and ultimately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on November 26th, 2007, attending recruit training at Paris Island, SC.
Jennifer L. Moe, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to so many, died on November 1st in Stamford Hospital, surrounded by her adoring family. She was ninety years old. Jennifer was known as Jenny by family and friends alike until she became a grandmother. After that, she was Nana to all. To her grandchildren, of course, but spontaneously, to everyone else as well; her children, her friends, her neighbors and casual acquaintances, even the occasional postman and waitress would call her Nana.
